EVERYTHING YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT POWDER/OMBRE BROW CARE: A COMPLETE GUIDE

How to Prepare for your Eyebrow Treatment

Preparing properly for your powder or ombré brow treatment helps me achieve the best possible result for you and supports smooth healing afterwards.

In the 7-10 days before your appointment, I recommend avoiding alcohol, caffeine, blood-thinning medication (such as aspirin or ibuprofen unless prescribed), and supplements like fish oil or vitamin E. These can increase sensitivity and bleeding during the treatment, which may affect how well the pigment retains in the skin.

Please avoid tanning, sunbeds, or sunburn on the brow area before your appointment, as I can’t work on irritated or damaged skin. I also ask that you don’t have your brows tinted, laminated, waxed, threaded, or tweezed for at least one week beforehand, unless we’ve discussed it together.

If you use active skincare products such as retinol, acids (AHA/BHA), or prescription treatments, stop using them on and around the brow area 7-14 days prior. On the day, arrive well-rested, hydrated, and with clean skin - no makeup on the brows.

If you have any medical conditions, are pregnant or breastfeeding, prone to cold sores, or have had previous permanent makeup, please let me know in advance so I can ensure your treatment is safe and fully tailored to you.

Aftercare: How to Make your Beautiful Brows Last

Following the correct aftercare is essential for proper healing, long-lasting colour, and beautiful results.

Straight after your treatment, your brows will look darker and more defined than the final healed result - this is completely normal. Over the next few days, you may experience light scabbing or flaking as the skin heals. Please do not pick, scratch, or peel the area, as this can cause pigment loss or uneven results.

For the first 7-10 days, keep your brows clean and dry. Avoid heavy sweating, saunas, steam rooms, swimming, sun exposure, and applying makeup to the brow area. Use any aftercare product I provide or recommend sparingly and exactly as instructed.

As your brows heal, the colour will soften by around 30-50%, settling into a natural, powdery finish. To keep your brows looking their best long-term, I recommend protecting them from the sun (SPF is key), avoiding harsh exfoliants directly on the area, and attending your advised top-up appointment.

With the right care, powder and ombré brows can last 1-3 years, fading gradually and evenly over time.
